Accused Soldiers Didn't Know Geneva Rules

WASHINGTON - The six U.S. soldiers facing courts-martial in connection with mistreatment of detainees at an Iraqi prison did not receive in-depth training on the Geneva Conventions, which govern the handling of captives, a military spokeswoman said Friday.

If this is some lame attempt to whitewash this barbarity, it is infuriating. One does not need to have "in-depth training on the Geneva Conventions" to know that savage behavior such as this is wholly unacceptable. The military needs to stop making inappropriate statements such as this and take out its trash.

The reputations of the honorable men an women of our military, living and dead, have been soiled by these miscreants and they should pay a heavy price.
